Plans

What information is found on the Plans tab (at Submission, prior to state updates)?

At submission of the Binder, the following fields are displayed:

  • Standard Component ID
  • Plan Name
  • Metal Level
  • Availability
  • Unique Plan Design (indicator)
  • The Plan Name, Metal Level, Availability, and Unique Plan Design indicator are imported from a successfully validated Plans and Benefits Template. If the template is revised and resubmitted, the fields will also be updated (if changed).

Once a Binder has been submitted by the issuer, the Standard Component ID(s) will never change.

What information is updateable on the Plans tab?

The following fields are updateable before and after the submission of the Binder's closing Disposition:

  • State Status: Each Plan's status, pulled from the State Instance Preferences, may be set at any time and is displayed to industry users.
  • Network Adequacy (indicator): A field allowing the state to indicate whether they believe the issuer's plan meets their network adequacy standards.
  • Exchange Workflow Status: A new, configurable status intended for use by the state's Exchange. This fields is used to indicate the status of review activities that may be completed by an entity other than the Department of Insurance.
  • Note: The use of these fields is highly encouraged, but optional.

Once a Certification has been submitted, a Plan will be indicated as Certified or Certification Denied (see the Icon Legend).
